Questionnaire Feedback

Once we had collected the results of the previously distributed questionnaires, we could compile the answers given in order to get a clearer picture of what our target audience would want from our film. We could then go on to develop these ideas into our piece, in order to provide for requirements of the audience.

We created charts of the result of some of the questions, and this is what we found.

Question 1: What do you think would be a typical stereotype or convention of the 1980's?

From this we can gather that the most expected stereotypes expected for a film like ours would be representations of lower class, drug use and politics. This can have one of two outcomes on our piece - it can either mean that we pander to these stereotypes in order to create a more realistic and time-representative product, or it could mean that we chose different areas of representation in order to offer something unusual and unexpected.

Question 2: What type of costumes would you expect to see in the 1980's?

This graph shows that the most common costume that our respondents associated with the 1980's consists of rolled up jeans. There is a strong likelihood that we will incorporate this into our film, as we want to convey the time period as best we can, and so we will probably play to this association.

Question 9: What age group do you think a period film mainly targets?

This shows us that our intended target audience of 15 up to adults was a suitable choice, as they would likely gain the most benefit from the nature of out film, being able to relate best to the character and situation that maybe the older people at that time may not be able to understand.
