Storyboards consist of a series of images or illustrations displayed in a sequence, with the purpose of outlining a narrative. They communicating the overall desired visual appearance of a piece of film by pre-visualising the rough ideas for shots, which can then go on to be developed at a later stage. For example:

After much deliberation, the group eventually constructed a rough storyboard, which we intend to use as a guideline whilst shooting our title sequence. It is only a tentative proposal, as things are more than likely to change, or not work as well as we had previously anticipated when we actually begin to film. Additionally, we may come up with new ideas whilst we are in the process of filming, however, as it stands, the title sequence we currently intend to create looks as follows:
Our sequence begins with a high angle close-up of main character waking up, and follows him around his morning rituals. The first scene fades in from a black screen to the action, possibly accompanied by a sound bridge of either an alarm clock, or the character's breathing. He then gets out of bed. We aim to include a non-diegetic song in the title sequence, as the usage of music linked with the 80's could help to heighten the authenticity of the piece - this could potentially be the point in the sequence where that kicks in. The sequence then cuts to the character drinking from a tap, beginning with a close-up of the tap dripping, then shooting his approach in the reflection in the faucet. The character then goes to the toilet - possibly viewed from a mid-shot, making use of diegetic sound to imply his actions instead of clearly showing them on the screen.

After this he dresses himself and leaves the house, stopping to roll and smoke a cigarette - an action that has proven to be incredibly common throughout the types of films influencing our piece. The sequence ends with multiple long shots of the character walking past various locations that hold a 1980's feel, which is a possible area to incorporate the actual titles - for example, we might be able to use various effects to perhaps 'reveal' the titles as he walks.
